The Mercedes-Benz V-Class and Vito also benefit from the newly developed roof system. Use of the technically sophisticated vacuum expansion process (VEX) for the production of the roof shell has resulted in an SCA sleeper roof with many benefits.

The high scissor lifts provide considerably more legroom and make it possible to sleep with your head towards the rear. Compared to the previous solution, the lift has been increased by 25 cm, to a total of 38 cm.

A high-quality reclining unit with flexible disc springs built into an aluminium frame provides even more comfort when reclining and sleeping.

The Southco locks with integrated safety straps ensure that locking the roof is simple and secure at the same time.

Thanks to the innovative VEX process, the roof shell can be manufacture with consistent wall thickness, and is characterised by having a roof shell with a smooth, non-profiled outer surface. This is an ideal prerequisite for direct bonding of thin solar foil a few millimetres thick to the outside of the roof, without significantly increasing the overall vehicle height.
